Gas Storage Data

Data_Inputs → EntityData → Gas Data → Gas storage data

<Gas Storage Data> is the table which lists all the storage facilities with its storage data and assumptions. For the individual facilities, the gas storage data lists individual facility data, while for GPU level node, the gas storage data indicates the generic information reflecting the aggregated storage availability within the GPU.

Here is an example of one storage facility located in China and its storage data. It shows the beginning and end data of the facility. For most facilities the end date is set to Dec 2199, far beyond the end of the scenario time frame, as there is no information for closing of a facility in the database. However, if there is a facility that is shut down or closed for short period of time, one could adjust accordingly in this table.

For example, if a plant is announced to close permanently starting Dec 2030, then one needs to consider following two steps:

  1. First, check if it is necessary to create a new infrastructure case to record this change. If so, need to do a make-new for an infrastructure case.
  2. Second, with the designated infrastructure case, find the plant, and change its end date to Dec 2030.

For another example, if a plant is announced to have a short maintenance outage for 3 months from April to June of 2022. Then one would need to adjust in following way by adding two more records to the storage data table, to reflects the closing of the plant and reopening again. Note here it is assumed that the change is made directly to the infraCase 21Q4China_Storage.
